Happy Things

There’s just something about Sunday that I have always loved.  Sunday is a perfect blend of laziness and productivity, a time to recover from the week before and prepare for the week ahead.  Today, I wanted to reflect on and share some bright moments last week brought me.

First up- handmade bowls made by yours truly (and T).  A little over a month ago, T and I ventured to Mud Flat studios in Somerville along with his sister and her boyfriend for a Valentine’s date night pottery class.  It was SO much fun, and our finished pieces were finally ready to be picked up this week! I think we did pretty well, no?

Now that Daylight Savings has struck, my morning walk to work starts off a bit darker, but at least I have pretty sunsets like this one to look forward to.

I am SO happy with my new Java Head candle from my gals over at the Lime Green Taxi Shop!  This one has a delicious coffee scent that makes our living room feel so warm and inviting.  Check out their Etsy shop (you won’t be disappointed) and read my review on their candles here.*

To say that I’m obsessed with the Whole Foods Salad bar, would be a gross understatement.  My current favorite item is their raw Brussels sprout salad with peppers and olives.  Washed down with my favorite cranberry Kombucha, this makes the perfect, healthy afternoon pick-me-up.

What’s got you smiling lately? I’d love to hear!

*Disclaimer- while I have received candles from the Lime Green Taxi Shop as gifts, this one (among others) was purchased with my own money.

Products With Heart- The Erin Condren Life Planner

Hello!  I’m so excited to share my next installment in my product review series (I changed the name up a bit to make it feel more personal for this blog!).  As a woman who loves a good organization and planning system, I’ve been on the hunt for a solid planner for awhile.  While I thought I’d found a good system for awhile (read about it here) I became dissatisfied over time, and found myself on the hunt once more for a good planner. Enter Erin Conrad*.

When I first stumbled upon Erin Conrad’s website, I was immediately impressed.  It’s basically the mecca for all those who love anything to do with organizing and planning…i.e. me.  From beautiful life planners, to colorful office supplies, to cards and invitations, this company offers a variety of products to suit a plethora of office or crafting needs.  I stuck with buying a life planner this time, but I will definitely be back to peruse through more products soon.

On to the planner…when I first opened it, I literally felt like someone had peeked into my head and then designed a planner that included anything I have ever wanted in one.  Organized with colorful tabs, each month of the planner begins with a calendar spread, followed by weekly agenda pages (available in either vertical or horizontal format, I went with horizontal.)  Each day is organized into two chunks.  I’ve been using the longer lined box for my daily to-do lists and homework assignments, and the small box for my exercise schedules and meal planning.

While this planner without a doubt includes everything I want to stay organized and plan out my time  in advance, it also offers lots of sweet extras I didn’t expect.  For instance, each weekly spread page includes a Notes and a Thankful Thought box, which are really awesome places to remind myself of things to remember or be grateful for.  There is also a Notes section in the back of the planner, which I’ve been using to keep track of books I want to read, gifts I want to purchase for people, etc.  Finally, the life planner comes with a starter pack of stickers.  While I’ve never been a fan of using stickers per say, I’ll definitely be giving these a try.

As if its interior features weren’t enough, the planner itself is sturdy and gorgeous.  There a tons of cover designs to choose from online, and I hear tell that you can order covers separately so you can switch up your look throughout the year.  You can check them out for yourself here.  Additionally, you can personalize your planner like I did, or buy a pre-made and ready to go planner for a cheaper price and faster delivery.

How do you keep yourself organized?  Do you have a system that works well for you?  I’d love to hear about it! Until next time!

* DISCLAIMER: I purchased my Erin Condren Life Planner with my own money.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Products I Love- LimeGreenTaxiShop

Hey all!  I’m so excited to announce my very first “series” here on Have Heart.  I plan on using this space to share reviews of products that I personally love and use everyday.  So without further ado, meet my delicious new Vino soy wax candle from the beautiful ladies over at LimeGreenTaxiShop!
{vino}
Started and co-owned by one of my nearest and dearest, Liz, and her friend Christine, LimeGreenTaxiShop is a funky little Etsy store that sells 100% homemade scented soy candles, poured with love into recycled and repurposed containers.  These unique candles come in a variety of styles, including but not limited to vintage tea cups, repurposed wine and beer bottles, recycled jars of salsa, and tea tins.  Their shop offers options that would make perfect gifts for anyone from your boyfriend to your coworker to your grandmother!
 {pretty and personal packaging}

While I admit that I have been gifted a few of these candles by Liz, I proudly purchased two (including my newest Vino candle) because I love them so much.  Visually, they serve as interesting and stunning decorative pieces that look great pretty much anywhere throughout the house.  Scent-wise, they are inviting without being overwhelming or headache-inducing.  As someone who loves to have a candle burning whenever I’m at home but doesn’t enjoy the headaches that the odors of too-strong candles can cause, I am particularly fond of the balance the LimeGreenTaxiShop has found in their scents.  If you’re in the market for a visually appealing and perfectly scented soy candle, this shop is the place for you.

In addition to my new Vino candle, our home boasts several other candles from the LimeGreenTaxiShop.  I’ve loved incorporating them into my decor (not to mention that they keep our apartment smelling nice!)
